Keep important arrangements on the platform. Leave and report promptly if you encounter threats, harassment, or suspicious behavior.
If someone moves a chat or a meetup toward paid companionship, adult, or sexual services, stop and report it — these are prohibited on Machi.
Be cautious if someone asks to move off the platform, use private transfers, or bypass review. Community features are for public city topics, local groups, Q&A, events, language exchange, housing, work, and services, not private introductions or paid companionship.
Do not prepay an unverified landlord. Check the address, contract, and identity, and beware unusually cheap listings or off-platform payment links.
Prefer public places, inspect high-value items in person, and avoid large advance deposits.
Never pay a job deposit or training guarantee. Verify the company, workplace, contact details, and actual role.
Machi may request more information and can add notices, limit distribution, remove content, or restrict accounts. A report does not guarantee one particular outcome.
